Endoscopic Brow Lift in Miami
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique that involves the use of an endoscope, a special viewing instrument that allows Dr. Maercks to see images of the underlying tissues through very small incisions, allowing for a less invasive procedure and shorter recovery.
An endoscopic brow lift is intended to elevate the brows and thereby reduce the appearance of wrinkles, furrows and other imperfections on the forehead. At our Miami Beach plastic surgery practice, Dr. Maercks can perform the endoscopic brow lift or traditional brow lift, depending on your specific needs.
Who Should Consider an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
If you present conditions such as the following, you may be a good candidate for an endoscopic brow lift in Miami with Dr. Maercks:
- Sagging brow
- Glabellar (frown) lines
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead lines
- Asymmetric brow
During a consultation in our Miami Beach office, Dr. Maercks can determine if the brow lift is suitable for you.
The Surgical Procedure: How the Endoscopic Brow Lift Works
Most brow lifts can be completed in 1–2 hours. Dr. Maercks may recommend local anesthesia with sedation or in some cases, general anesthesia. The face and surrounding areas are cleansed and the hair is tied back. Incisions are made in different areas behind the hairline depending on technique; the endoscopic technique requires 4-5 short incisions. The tissues are gently elevated to restore a natural eyebrow arch. A special technique fixates the brow in place before the incisions are closed with clips or stitches.
Life After Your Endoscopic Brow Lift in Miami
After surgery, the doctor applies a soft absorbent dressing to the treated areas. A medication is prescribed to help manage post-operative pain. Common post-operative effects include swelling, numbness, nausea and discomfort. Downtime is typically about 7 – 10 days. The doctor will provide specific instructions for your recovery, which you should closely follow for safety and optimal brow lift results.
